Franklin Lakes, NJ (PRWEB) October 21, 2010

Martin Rooney, Parisi Speed School COO, will be working with the coaches and athletes of Finland in October and November. He begins with a two day workshop for the Finnish Coaches’ Association, travels to Mäkelärinned Sport School to work with their coaches and athletes, trains elite athletes in Tampere and Turku and then presents to the Finnish Olympic Coaches at their Summit.

Rooney returns to Helsinki and the Finnish Coaches Association to present a two day course on The Art of Coaching and Program Design for hundreds of Finnish Coaches: “Finland has a rich sport tradition. It is my hope to help motivate and educate the attendees to deepen that history of success.”    Coaching Education is a specialty of Rooney’s who co-designed the online Coaching Foundation series, developed curriculum used to teach thousands of coaches and trainers, and is the author of Train to Win which has been used as a college textbook and coaching manual for the last 10 years. 2010 marks the third year Rooney has been invited to present to the association, which draws coaches from all levels and disciplines of Finnish athletics; “I really enjoy working with the coaches and athletes in Finland. They are very open to new training ideas as well as to my motivational style. I have developed some great coaching relationships over the last 3 years and want to continue to help advance their training as much as possible.”

The next stop on the Finland tour is a 2 day workshop at Mäkelärinned Sport School, the biggest sport school in Finland, where Rooney will work with both the coaches and athletes. Mäkelärinned trains 600 athletes, ages 16-20, from over 50 different sports disciplines, many of whom have already achieved impressive results in international competition. Rooney has combined his experience designing curriculum for over 250000 athletes and thousands of coaches, the continual psychological and physiological Parisi research, and his work on Coaching Foundations to develop a workshop which transcends specific sports and augments core athleticism.

Rooney finishes this tour with a presentation to the Finnish Olympic Coaches, part of a summit which kicks off the 2 year training period prior to the London 2012 Olympics. As a former USA Bobsled Team Member, an international MMA coach and trainer of Olympians, Rooney has drawn on his experience to tailor this coaching education to the intensity of international elite competition. ”This trip will have added meaning since I will be presenting for the Olympic Coaches. I am ready to share my message and am excited to see the response.”
